Getting Lots Done!

Well I just realized next wenesday will be my first anniversary of writing my blog!!! I actually opened it in 2007, but my first post was April 28th 2009!!! So I guess I'll have to plan something for a celebration.....watch for an announcement!!

My nieces birthday was a while ago, but she asked me to make a boot bag for her ,when she goes back and forth to her horse stuff...never saw one before, so I got some of this neat tack fabric and designed one myself. hope she likes it!!

I liked Barbara's Border tablerunner so much, I decided to make myself one last night. How easy are these babies!!!!

We have made my former sewing room in the basement into a family room. Nothing special, just trying to make it look a little better. painted the yellow walls a very soft blue, made these cushions and ottoman cover to spruce it up a bit!!!

Made this wallhanging to cover the stainless heat shield we had to put up by the wood stove.

Received this lovely little card from Marylynn today...isn't it gorgeous!! I think it's called Iris Folding!!
Don't forget to stop back in the next few days...I'll be announcing some fun for you!!!

jaybird quilts

Do you remember when I went to Lancaster to the AQS, a few weeks ago? Well at a dinner there, a bunch of Facebook friends got together to meet up for fun. At that dinner, I met a cute little thing....Julie of Jaybird Quilts. (Mishka of the Quilting Gallery brought her along). Well, I must tell you ...I have often been called the Planner, Leader, Organizer, Queen, the Grand Poobah....I seem to always put myself in charge. I think I should have been an event organizer!! Hee Hee!! Anyway, when we met, I can tell you I was speechless!!! I met my match!!! She's like my little girl!!! This whirlwind took my breath away!!! Nobody could be believe my reaction to this little Hurricane!!!! Anyway, we have become fast friends and I can't wait till we meet up again!!!
But I have some great news.....she has been published before ...but she just found out her quilt made the COVER of the BHG summer edition of Quilts and More!!! I am so proud of my little Quilting Friend!!! yay Julie!!!

I Need Your Help

I leave for Spring Retreat, a week from today!! We've just finished redecorating our bedroom and dressing room. I need to make a quilt to fit in the new room. I want it to be a simple modern type quilt. These are the fabric I've chosen. Does anyone have any ideas for a pattern??? It started with a gorgeous border fabric I found in Lancster. I added black and lots of creams and browns to the mix!
